June Newsletter 2025
June Newsletter 2025
June has been a month full of energy, inspiration, and new beginnings here at Love Tech, as we continue our mission to empower girls and young women to explore exciting careers in STEM across the Isle of Man.
This month, we were thrilled to shine a spotlight on Lizzie Riley, our June Mentor of the Month. From studying Geology at Imperial College London to leading the Isle of Man’s energy transition at Manx Utilities, Lizzie’s journey is a powerful reminder of how upskilling, adaptability, and a passion for sustainability can drive real-world impact.
We also welcomed a new maths mentor to the Love Tech family — Georgia Wilson! A 2024 Gef 30 Under 30 Trailblazer and Senior Actuarial Trainee at Zurich, Georgia brings a brilliant mix of resilience, curiosity, and enthusiasm to her mentoring role. She’s proof that even a detour can lead to a destination that’s better than imagined.
And looking ahead…
We’re excited to announce our next free robot coding workshop for girls aged 8–15, happening Saturday 26th July at St Matthew’s Church, Douglas in partnership with Code Club. Spots are limited, so if you know a young coder ready to learn how to program Sphero robots and have fun doing it, make sure they sign up!
Thank you for being part of this growing community — whether you’re a mentor, supporter, teacher, parent, or future STEM superstar. Together, we’re making real change happen. 💜💜💜
