Love Tech’s mission: bridging the gender gap in STEM

In 2017, Love Tech was founded by female business leaders and technologists on the Isle of Man to address the alarming underrepresentation of women in STEM fields. Our mission has always been clear:

“To inspire and empower girls and young women in the Isle of Man to explore opportunities in STEM.”

Since then, our fabulous team, including our #WomenInSTEM Mentors, have met many of you — as well as parents and students. We’ve listened to your STEM education needs and tailored our support as we all work together to nurture a culture of STEM inclusivity and innovation.

Primary School Engagement

STEM Spark – once again kindly sponsored by PwC Isle of Man

From your feedback we’ve learnt that continuing to ‘spark’ confidence and curiosity — especially when it comes to making STEM accessible and exciting for our local girls, is vital…

Building on from our STEM books in primary schools’ initiative, STEM Spark has therefore been devised to bring our inspirational Love Tech Mentor role models out of the work environment and right into your classroom.

This means primary aged kids get to see and hear first-hand from women who are busy smashing STEM stereotypes in these in-demand, often exciting, better paid and traditionally male roles.
