November Newsletter 2024
A cozy, autumnal welcome to our wonderful Love Tech community! November is here, and the crisp, cool air and golden leaves remind us how fast this year is flying by. We hope you’ve had a fantastic start to the season and are excited to share all the latest news and events to keep you inspired as we embrace this autumnal chapter together.
To get started, we want to highlight how important our mentors are. They play a key role in shaping the future of STEM by supporting, inspiring, and guiding young people. Mentors share their knowledge, real-world experience, and encouragement to help students find their way through education and into their careers. More than just teachers, our mentors spark curiosity, creativity, and new ideas, helping to build the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators.

Their support empowers us to provide even more resources, learning opportunities, and programs to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and tech enthusiasts.

STEM SPARK – A Call to Action for Schools! 📚
Buchan Primary School
Our exciting STEM Spark initiative, sponsored by PwC Isle of Man, launched into full swing last term, and we’re already making an impact in schools across the Island. Now it’s fourth year, this primary school initiative brings free STEM titles to primary school libraries, alongside engaging assemblies and workshops that ignite curiosity in young minds.
What an inspiring morning we had at The Buchan School! As part of our STEM Spark programme, we spoke to a room full of budding environmental scientists and engineers, sharing insights into the exciting world of STEM and stories from some of our incredible mentors. The students were curious and eager to learn more, and we loved seeing their enthusiasm!
We were also thrilled to donate eight new STEM books to their school library, keeping the spark of curiosity and learning alive long after our visit.
Are you a teacher, and would your primary school love to get involved? Whether you’re interested in a hands-on session for students or a workshop for teachers on unconscious bias or AI, now’s the perfect time. Sign up today, and let’s bring STEM to life in our Island’s classrooms.
