Love Tech is delighted to say that this month our latest PwC Isle of Man sponsored initiative, STEM Spark, took us to Andreas Primary School 🎇

Here our wonderful Education and Strategy Coordinator, Lisa Karran, delivered a STEM-Spirational assembly alongside a whole new selection of books for the school’s library (‘Cool Engineering’ was particularly popular – we wonder why that might be… in June?! 🏍️🤔☺️)

Love Tech would just love to say a huge THANK YOU to Andreas Primary School for having us. We were also thrilled to see so many great photos of the children enjoying their STEM activities after we’d gone 💥

Remember, if you’re a primary school teacher on the Island and you’d love to sign your school up for a free STEM-themed assembly plus either a STEM-themed workshop for children or an Unconscious Bias workshop for teachers – AND a brand new selection of free STEM books for your school library…

And June doesn’t end here because…

Throughout the month, we’ve been celebrating our new…

Mentor of the Month, Physiotherapist Ruth Cooil 🌟

Ruth is a Physiotherapist at Ruth Cooil Physiotherapy Ltd. Describing her career path as ‘rocky initially,’ due to a mix of A-level trials and tribulations plus university home-sickness, Ruth soon rocketed instead, working first in the UK, then returning home to work at Nobles for 25 years whilst physio-ing for British gymnastics, Island Games, and Commonwealth Games on the side. In 2023, Ruth left Nobles to run her business full-time.

If you’d love to find out more about Ruth, you can…

Thank you so much for sharing your story Ruth, and in doing so enabling us to continue to ‘Inspire and Empower girls and young women in the Isle of Man to explore opportunities in STEM.’🌟

“Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.” Ruth Cooil’s wise words for June.

So to finish up – other exciting things that have been happening for #TeamLoveTech this month…

Love Tech was thrilled to support Gef the Mongoose’s 30 Under 30 as their partners for the Trailblazers category. Huge congratulations to our three young trailblazers, Georgia Foxton, Savannah Gunnell, and Luke Wilson.

Left to Right: Love Tech committee members, Lisa Karran and Adam Drummond, two of our young trailblazers! Luke Wilson, Georgia Foxton, and
Love Tech’s Chair, Angela van den Berg.

Here’s what our committee member and Events lead had to say on the event:

“It was fantastic for Love Tech to be invited to partner up with Media Isle of Man for the ‘Trailblazer’ award category for the 2024 Gef 30 Under 30. Celebrating the hard work put in by our island’s under 30s is paramount to the future success of our communities, and I’m sure that the three winners in our category will go far!”
