December Newsletter 2025

December was a special month at Love Tech — a time for reflection, celebration, and gratitude as we wrap up an incredible year supporting women and girls in

STEM across the Isle of Man.

This month, we were delighted to celebrate Wilna as our December Mentor of the Month. A Cost Consultant and Quantity Surveyor specialising in engineering, Wilna’s journey — from hands-on building projects as a teenager to delivering complex developments across South Africa and the Isle of Man — is a powerful example of how creativity and technical skill can come together in a fulfilling STEM career. We’re so proud to have her as part of the Love Tech mentor community.

Behind the scenes, December has also been a time of planning and preparation as we look ahead to 2026. We’ve been reflecting on the stories, events, and connections that have shaped the past year, and setting the foundations for even more inspiration, innovation, and impact in the months to come.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, partners, mentors, and supporters. Your continued belief in our mission helps us to inspire, empower, and engage women and girls in STEM — and we couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to an exciting year ahead and everything still to come. 🚀

Looking Back on 2025 at Love Tech

We’re taking a moment to pause and reflect on what has truly been an

incredible year for Love Tech.

From growing our programmes and strengthening partnerships, to deepening our impact across the Island, this year has been filled with meaningful moments, powerful conversations, and inspiring stories. None of it would have been possible without our amazing sponsors, partners, mentors, and supporters. Your belief in our mission has helped drive real growth, innovation, and positive change throughout the year — and we are so grateful for your continued support.

As we look ahead, 2026 brings exciting new energy. We’re ready to share even more inspiration, innovation, and connection with our community, and to continue empowering girls and women to explore opportunities in

STEM right here on the Isle of Man.

Mentor of the Month: Wilna Gerber

As we round off the year, we’re delighted to celebrate Wilna, Love Tech’s December Mentor of the Month and a talented Cost Consultant & Quantity Surveyor at Bell Burton Associates.

Specialising in engineering, Wilna’s career journey is a brilliant example of how creativity and technical skill can come together to shape a fulfilling path in STEM. Her love for the building industry began at just fifteen, renovating a fixer-upper home alongside her dad — sparking a passion that would stay with her for life.

Since then, Wilna has worked across South Africa on civil, industrial, commercial, and residential projects, gaining a wealth of experience before relocating to the Isle of Man in 2018. Today, she continues to deliver projects with a strong focus on value, accuracy, and collaboration — inspiring the next generation through her work and mentorship.
