Hi, my name’s Clare, Love Tech committee member and Assets Manager.
Here are a few fun facts about me and also my video about why I’m passionate about inspiring and empowering people just like you to explore opportunities in STEM.
My STEM specialism:
Tech education.
My current role:
Lecturer in Computing and IT.
3 fun facts about me!
- I have a fine art degree.
- My favourite animal is a dragon.
- Being dyslexic has given me the ability to read upside down.
When not STEM-ing you can find me…
Creating ceramic sculptures or spending time with my family.
My career path:
Education is weaved throughout my career path. Ever since I left school I have had some sort of study alongside my work. This has been a mixture of both Art and IT qualifications. It sometimes feels like I need to repair or create. This can be building a sculpture, code that solves an issue, replacing a computer component or simply helping someone work through an issue.
I have worked within Education for over 20 years, first as an ICT Technical Support Engineer before becoming a Lecturer in Computing and IT. This has allowed me to balance my work and my education.
To me, finding the right career path is about finding what drives you and how you can use this to build your career.
