Hi, I’m Jenni!
Here are a few facts about me and also why I’m so passionate about inspiring and empowering people just like you to explore opportunities in STEM…
My career specialism:
Technology.
My current role:
Associate Director Cyber Security Operations at Flutter Entertainment PLC.
When not STEM-ing you can find me…
Spending time with my family and friends, playing tennis and crafting.
A fun fact I love about my career:
It’s fast-paced and dynamic. No two days are the same which keeps things interesting.
My career path:
I’m originally from Liverpool and whilst at college studying Media and Communications, I found my passion lay in Technology.
When I moved to the Isle of Man with family I therefore changed fields to study Computing, leading to a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Computing from the University of Central Lancashire.
Whilst studying I worked in roles across business development, IT, and office administration and even did some extra work on films and TV shows!
After graduating, I was hired as an Internal Security Analyst at PokerStars (now part of Flutter Entertainment Plc). This involved learning how to use complex in-house software and enabled me to develop investigation and analytical skills.
From here I progressed to the Head of Internal Security and was leading a team, handling high-priority investigations, and ensuring systems were secure and compliant with robust security controls and a strong governance framework.
During my time in Internal Security I gained further qualifications in Compliance, Financial Crime Prevention and I’m a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Last year I took the opportunity to take a new role within the Information Security function and I am currently the Associate Director of Cyber Security Operations. This role means I am responsible for the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and a Security Detection team.
Here, we actively monitor, detect and respond to cyber security threats using cutting edge technology and processes. My team are fantastic and passionate security professionals and it’s an exciting time to be part of such a global business.
As a mother of two young daughters, I’m thrilled to become a mentor with Love Tech and am committed to supporting students and individuals considering a career in IT and Technology.
I’m passionate about championing equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender, background, or circumstance. I look forward to sharing my experiences and empowering others to navigate the exciting and ever-evolving tech landscape, especially those who may face barriers or seek guidance on how to thrive and succeed in this dynamic field.
