I’m 24 years old and I’ve lived on the IOM since I was 3 years old. I have an unusual mix of interests, I love art, cooking, anything creative, but also have a passion for analytics!

I studied Economics BSC at the University of Manchester and graduated in 2016 and originally connected with the Stars Group, where I now work, when I completed an internship in 2015 during the summer break. I worked in Business Intelligence for 12 weeks, analysing customer marketing campaigns.

After I graduated I applied for the role of Reward Intern within the Reward & HR Tech team at the Stars Group; my role involved researching benefit schemes, looking at best practice, helping benchmark roles and lots more besides.

As time went on, I found I was doing more and more research and analytical based projects, including cost predictions, surveys and trend analysis, so the decision was made to create the very first People Analytics team within HR Tech, at Stars Group.

My role involves all things relating to people data from running monthly key statistics like turnover rates, analysing survey results, building reports and dashboards. as well as running ad-hoc analysis on all sorts of different things like gender pay reporting, financial reports and more.

I always enjoyed the more applied side of mathematics rather than theory; and so my job allows me to run data on real people, and see real results. It is really rewarding to be able to run a survey on employee well-being for eg, present results to the business with recommendations, and then see feedback improve. Plus I do something different every day, which always helps!
